We have come to the end of September 2022 and it is again another slow month in terms of new luxury hotel openings. Still, we will be sharing with our readers five new boutique and luxury hotels that have opened around the globe this month.
The Tampa EDITION
Opened on 20 September 2022 in preview, The Tampa EDITION is the second EDITION hotel to open in Florida, after The EDITION Miami Beach.
Location
Located in downtown Tampa, the hotel is housed in a mixed-use 26 storey development in the Water Street Tampa district. The Tampa EDITION is within walking distance of several attractions, such as The Florida Aquarium, American Victory Ship & Museum, as well as Tampa Bay History Center. Channel District, an area with many restaurants and shops is also within easy reach of the hotel.
Tampa International Airport (TPA) is the nearest airport to the hotel and is a fifteen minutes drive away.

There are three dining establishments within The Tampa EDITION’s premises. Lilac is a modern Mediterranean restaurant featuring dishes focused on local Florida produce. Market at EDITION serves an Italian menu. Azure at EDITION is the hotel’s Greek restaurant offering a rooftop dining experience.
The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, a 24 hours fitness centre, and a spa.

Sommerro
Set in the former headquarters of the Oslo’s electrical company dating back to the 1930s, Sommerro, part of Nordic Choice Hotels, opened its doors on 1 September 2022.
Location
The hotel is situated in the upscale neighborhood of Frogner, with lots of retail outlets and great restaurants in the property’s vicinity. Some of the attractions near the hotel include The Royal Palace, Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art, and the Nobel Peace Center.
The closest metro station from the hotel is Nationaltheatret Station on lines 1 to 5.

Sommerro has six dining venues. Ekspedisjonshallen is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant serving brasserie-style favorites. Tak Oslo is a Nordic Japanese rooftop restaurant that uses only fresh local produce. Izakaya offers street food and cocktails while To SØSTRE is the property’s afternoon tea venue. Plah + Ahaan is the hotel’s Thai restaurant and Barramon serves tapas and wines.
Sommerro’s facilities include an outdoor rooftop heated pool, a fitness centre, and a spa.

La Zambra, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt
Housed in the iconic former Byblos hotel, La Zambra, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt opened on 21 September 2022 after a complete renovation.
Location
Nestled in the Mijas hills, the hotel is within a forty-five minutes drive from Málaga, the largest city on Costa del Sol, and just a fifteen minutes drive to the Mijas coast. Attractions nearby include Mijas White Village, and guests can also visit Marbella Old town to immerse themselves in Andalusian architecture and culture.
Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP) is the nearest airport to the hotel and is a thirty minutes drive away.

Restaurants and Facilities
The hotel has two restaurants and two bars. Palmito is an all-day dining restaurant that serves international food and Mediterranean cuisine while Picador is a neo-taverna. Bamboleo and La Bartola are the hotel’s bars.
Facilities at La Zambra, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt include two outdoor pools, two tennis courts, a paddle court, a gym as well as a spa.

Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern
After an extensive three-year renovation, the historic Hotel Palace Luzern opened as Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern on 24 September 2022.
Location
Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern is a landmark property by the shores of Lake Lucerne and offers a commanding view of the beautiful lake. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the city’s main attractions including the Kapellbrücke, Museggmauer, and the Löwendenkmal.
Zurich International Airport (ZRH) is the nearest airport to the hotel and is a fifty-minute drive away.

Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern has four dining concepts of which two are currently open. MOzern Bar & Brasserie features a variety of western and Asian selections and serves as the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant while Quai 10 offers al fresco dining with Mediterranean cuisine. Colonnade, a French restaurant, and Minamo, a Japanese restaurant will open in the first quarter of 2023.
There is a fitness centre and a spa but no pool on the hotel’s premises.

Debuting in Kuwait on 16 September 2022, Grand Hyatt Kuwait is Hyatt’s first luxury brand in Kuwait and only the second Hyatt hotel in the country.
Location
Part of 360 Mall, most of the city’s attractions such as Bait Al Othman Museum, Kuwait Towers, and Souq Al-Mubarakiya are just a short drive away.
The hotel is close to the airport, with Kuwait International Airport (KWI) only a ten-minute drive away.

Grand Hyatt Kuwait has three restaurants and a lobby lounge. Stambul is the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant which also serves Turkish cuisine. Liberté is a modern brasserie that’s integrated into 360 Mall while Mei Li is the property’s signature restaurant serving Chinese cuisine.
The hotel also has a Grand Club lounge for club rooms and suite guests.
